“Act One: Young Performers”
In Act One: Young Performers, children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade take their first steps onto the stage—not just to play pretend, but to begin learning the true craft of acting. In this imaginative and skill-building class, students explore core theatrical concepts such as character, setting, objective, and emotion. They’ll learn to project their voices, use expressive body language, and take direction with confidence.
From understanding stage directions like “upstage” and “downstage” to practicing how to “cheat out” and hold their “focus,” students will begin to speak the language of the theater. Through creative movement, improvisation, and scripted scene work, they’ll discover how to bring characters to life and work as an ensemble.
This class is the perfect introduction to real performance training—nurturing creativity, collaboration, and stage presence in a supportive and inspiring environment. The curtain is rising. Are they ready for Act One?
